We believe our treatment system has a number of benefits which will make your roof treatment expense among the wisest dollars you will ever spend on your home. The process is neat, it’s clean, it’s simple, it’s safe, and it works – guaranteed. Here’s how it happens:

First, the roof is cleaned of leaves, evergreen needles and other tree debris by using air (either blowers or compressed air, depending on severity). Then, if there are some spots (missing shakes, holes through the paper etc.) that represent an imminent leak, those locations are repaired free of charge up to about 1/2 bundle. If there are no such spots, so much the better. Maintenance issue repairs are charged on a per bundle rate and are shown as a separate item on your Bid Proposal. Now it’s time to treat the roof with CedarSilver.

CedarSilver is a chemical cleansing agent for cedar shakes and shingles, as well as serving to prevent the growth of moss, lichens and fungus. It is also fire resistant and provides some degree of fire protection for your roof. Once your roof is free of debris, the product is applied with a low-pressure sprayer and we go away. The CedarSilver is now trapped in the wood cells. WITHOUT PRESSURE WASHING, the weather does the rest. Because of the cleansing action of CedarSilver, the moss, fungus and lichens are then gradually and harmlessly rinsed away into the gutters and downspouts by gentle rain action. Your roof will return to that silvery gray color it had when it was a few months old. The length of time required for this to happen can vary from a few weeks to a complete rainy season, depending on roof condition and weather. Roof pitch is also a factor. We provide a Completion Statement, which activates the Warranty Certificate on this brochure. We have been using this process since 1991 and there has not been a single failure of the product to perform as claimed on a properly maintained roof. The Completion Statement will also provide you with a recommended Maintenance Plan detailing how to maximize the life span and appearance of your roof. This warranty is transferable to the new owner should you sell your home during the warranty period.

Preservation of used shingles will vary depending on age, level of deterioration, debris, pitch exposure and weather. Maintenance repairs are another issue, and once the roof is around eight years old or so, they will become an issue. Sometimes a bit before, but definitely a little later. Be sure to read RepairTalk and call with any questions it doesn’t clearly answer for you.

Finally, CedarSilver is completely biodegradable and environmentally compatible. It will not rot out your gutters and downspouts. It will not stain your concrete. It will not harm you lawn or shrubs. It has virtually no odor. It will not injure animals – wild or domestic. It has been used in numerous sensitive applications including Inn at Otter Crest and at the Leach Botanical Garden. We have hundreds of references throughout NW Oregon and SW Washington.
